Being a Girl Scout means belonging to a sisterhood, a powerful community where girls dream big, learn new skills, create powerful friendships, and become leaders.
Why Join Girl Scouts?
Every girl is welcome at Girl Scouts, and at least 16% of Arizona Cactus-Pine Council Girl Scouts are Latinas. Participating in Girl Scouts is a great way to learn, create and serve in the community, while making lifelong friends.
At Girl Scouts, we recognize the importance of family involvement in a girl’s growth and development. We encourage and welcome families to participate in each girl’s leadership experience, whether by volunteering, attending events, or joining in our family-centered activities.
Girl Scouts are more likely to have excellent grades, graduate from high school, and graduate from college. Participating in Girl Scouts also gives girls in high school the opportunity to earn the Gold Award, the highest achievement in our organization. Gold Award Girl Scouts are eligible for scholarships to apply toward college. By earning the Gold Award, girls stand out in college admissions, military recruitment, internships and job interviews. The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world. Not only is the cookie program fun, but it also helps Girl Scouts learn life and leadership skills. From interacting with customers to creating budgets and taking orders, the program helps girls develop essential skills like goal setting, decision making, money management, and business ethics.
Membership to Girl Scouts is only $25 per year, and financial aid is available. Joining Girl Scouts is an affordable way to participate in a community that helps girls succeed.
We create safe spaces and provide a sense of belonging for all girls. In Girl Scouting, the emotional and physical safety and well-being of girls is our top priority. We perform background checks on all our adult volunteers and commit to taking excellent care of the girls entrusted to us.
